Inspired by the personal experiences of my daughter Taylor and her frequent childhood visits to the hospital to treat cerebral palsy, the Taylor’s Gift outreach project was designed to minimize the fear and maximize the friendship associated with any pediatric hospitalization.
Summer can be a time for lolly gagging around at home, in your neighborhood, or at the beach. It hopefully is a time when we can, as parents, slow down with our kids and actually enjoy some of these moments passing us by. I remember as a young parent picking one good book and reading it over the summer to my three kids. It was a great way to end a hot day by finding a cool spot and letting them get all snuggly. I loved seeing their eyes light up and see the emotion on their young faces. It was especially rewarding when they were inquisitive and it sparked conversation amongst us.
